NBCD has been constructed using the Active Server Pages (asp) server scripting language, site design and layout is controlled by Cascading Stylesheets (CSS).
Windows Users
I have tested the site on the following browsers on a Windows platform:
- Internet Explorer 5.0
- Internet Explorer 5.5
- Internet Explorer 6.0
- Mozilla 1.6
- Mozilla Firefox 0.8
- Mozilla Firefox 1.0
- Netscape 6.2
- Netscape 7.1
- Opera 6.0
- Opera 7.23
There are a few anomalies when using Internet Explorer; this is because IE doesn't strictly adhere to CSS standards as set out by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). A good solution to this would be to try one of the other browsers (for example, Mozilla, Netscape or Opera) that do follow CSS standards more closely. I personally like Mozilla Firefox.
Text Size
The text size throughout the site can be increased or decreased using the appropriate browser settings. Some display problems may be experienced when increasing the text, particularly using the 'Largest' setting in Internet Explorer.
Screen Resolution
The site should render correctly at any resolution, but I've set the maximum page width to 800 pixels. This is because the text becomes hard to read line by line on some pages if they span across a page set at a greater resolution. Lower resolutions may require some sideways scrolling. Extra browser sidebars such as Favourites or History, etc. may also cause horizontal scrollbars to appear, depending on which resolution you are using.
Mac Users
Sorry, but I haven't been able to test the site on a Mac, as I don't have access to one! However, if anyone wants to send me screenshots of the site in different browsers on a Mac, I'd appreciate it!
